Vodafone hat f\u00fcr Kabelanschl\u00fcsse einen eigenen Router designen lassen und bietet Neukunden die Vodafone Station oft g\u00fcnstiger oder gar kostenlos an. Bei uns im Test zeigt sich, dass du dich auf den Router verlassen kannst. Die Vodafone Station tut das. Besser als andere Router, die ich zuvor getestet habe, wenn auch nicht immer ohne Schwierigkeiten. In einiger Entfernung und mit direkter &#8222;Sicht&#8220; auf den Router funkt sie \u2013&nbsp;erwartungsgem\u00e4\u00df \u2013 problemlos. Durch einige Mauern und Stockwerke hindurch kommt es zu kleinen Hakeleien und einem Wechsel des Endger\u00e4ts vom 5-GHz-Netz auf das 2,4-GHz-Netz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Vodafone Station funkt von Haus in beiden Netzen gleichzeitig. Du kannst in den Einstellungen aber auf Wunsch eins davon abstellen. Das 5-GHz-Netz liefert f\u00fcr gew\u00f6hnlich h\u00f6here Geschwindigkeiten, die Reichweite ist allerdings nicht so hoch. Im 2,4-GHz-Netz ist die \u00dcbertragungsrate etwas langsamer, daf\u00fcr stabiler, und der Router erreicht eine gr\u00f6\u00dfere Reichweite. Mein Verbindungsger\u00e4t, das Smartphone <a href=\"https:\/\/trendblog.euronics.de\/mobile-web\/galaxy-a53-samsungs-schoenstes-smartphone-im-test-110566\/\">Samsung Galaxy A53<\/a>, schaltet von sich aus in das 5-GHz-Netz. W\u00e4hrend die 5-GHz-Ergebnisse wie erwartet schnell sind, \u00fcberrascht die Inkonsistenz des 2,4-GHz-Netz-Ergebnisses. Eine stabile Verbindung kommt aber bei allen Messungen zustande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wie hoch ist die Geschwindigkeit im Nebenzimmer?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">N\u00e4chster Test im Nebenzimmer. Eine Wand und eine T\u00fcr trennen das Zimmer von dem, in dem die Vodafone Station steht. Die Standard\u00fcbertragung bleibt dabei im 5-GHz-Netz. Die Vodafone Station steht in meinem Arbeitszimmer direkt am Fenster. Gerade f\u00fcr Wohnh\u00e4user ist es interessant, wie schnell die \u00dcbertragungsrate in anderen Stockwerken noch ist, ob eventuell ein WLAN-Repeater Abhilfe schaffen kann oder du besser gleich ein Mesh-WLAN aufbauen solltest. Oft die Problemstelle eines Endger\u00e4ts, denn es muss sich hier &#8222;entscheiden&#8220;, ob der WLAN-Empfang noch stark genug ist oder es besser gleich auf die mobile Datenverbindung ausweichen soll. Bis etwa 25 Meter vor meinem Haus ist die Verbindung zwischen meinem Smartphone und der Vodafone Station noch tadellos, danach wird es rapide weniger und nach 50 Metern Entfernung ist ganz Schluss. Der Router funkt durchs B\u00fcrofenster nach drau\u00dfen, gleich dahinter allerdings befindet sich als Herausforderung ein Balkongitter. Dann kommt allerdings noch eine Verbindung zustande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Empfang im &#8222;Funkloch&#8220; K\u00fcche<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meine K\u00fcche ist nah dran an einem Funkloch. Mit eigentlich jedem Router, den ich jemals im Einsatz hatte, gab es hier Schwierigkeiten. Die Signale m\u00fcssen durch den Flur, am Badezimmer und einigen Wasserleitungen vorbei in die recht verwinkelt stehende K\u00fcche. Die Messergebnisse mit der Vodafone Station schwanken zwar auch recht deutlich, allerdings kommt \u2013&nbsp;in niedriger Geschwindigkeit \u2013&nbsp;doch noch ein erstaunlich zuverl\u00e4ssiges 2,4-GHz-Netz aus. Die getrennten Messungen f\u00fcr das 5- und das 2,4-GHz-Netz ergeben erstaunlich \u00e4hnlich Ergebnisse: Immerhin noch rund 30 Mbit\/s kommen im &#8222;Funkloch&#8220; K\u00fcche an. Genug, um dort Netflix zu streamen, im Web zu surfen oder Musik \u00fcber Spotify zu h\u00f6ren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ich habe die Vodafone Station seit etwa 1 Jahr in meiner Altbauwohnung im Einsatz. Von Vodafone beziehe ich seitdem eine 100-Mbit\/s-Leitung. Dass die \u00dcbertragungsraten in meinen Tests teilweise deutlich h\u00f6her liegen, bedeutet nicht, dass der Router die Daten auch wirklich mit dieser Geschwindigkeit \u00fcbertr\u00e4gt, sondern nur, dass er es <em>k\u00f6nnte<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"software\">Vodafone Station: Benutzeroberfl\u00e4che und Einstellungen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sch\u00f6n, wie sich die Zeiten \u00e4ndern. Mal abgesehen davon, dass er bei meinem Test das WLAN am Abend zwar aus-, am n\u00e4chsten Morgen aber nicht wieder einschaltete, bezieht sich der Zeitplan nur auf das WLAN. Der Router trennt die per WLAN verbundenen Ger\u00e4te und geht nicht etwa selbst in einen Energiesparmodus \u2013&nbsp;was ich als viel sinnvoller erachtet h\u00e4tte. So zieht er n\u00e4mlich nachts, wo ich ihn nicht brauche, weiterhin massig Strom. In meinem Test schaltet er das WLAN zur verabredeten Zeit nicht wieder ein. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Einstellungen vorzunehmen, dauert mitunter etwas. So musst du einige Sekunden warten, wenn du etwa das 5-GHz-Netz ausschalten willst \u2013&nbsp;und das au\u00dferdem immer zun\u00e4chst \u00fcber &#8222;Anwenden&#8220; best\u00e4tigen, bevor etwas passiert. Aber auch das ist eigentlich erwartbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gew\u00fcnscht h\u00e4tte ich mir also noch, dass ich mit dem Zeitplan den ganzen Router vor\u00fcbergehend ausschalten kann. Und auch Kleinigkeiten, wie etwa, nach wie vielen Minuten mich die Station automatisch ausloggt, wenn ich sie nicht benutzt habe. Das tut sie selbstst\u00e4ndig nach einigen Minuten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hardware\">Vodafone Station: Das kann die Hardware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Vodafone Station kommt in einem recht urigen Design daher. Sie steht hochkant und dabei trapezf\u00f6rmig vorne auf einem durchl\u00e4ssigen Plastikr\u00f6hrchen in Metalloptik. Das l\u00e4sst unten eine \u00d6ffnung f\u00fcr die L\u00fcftungsschlitze, und Luft kann zirkulieren. Das ist h\u00f6her als bei DSL-Routern, f\u00fcr Kabelrouter allerdings nicht un\u00fcblich. In meinen Tests zieht das Ger\u00e4t nicht immer die volle Leistung. Um die 25 Watt sind es allerdings schon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">20 Watt messe ich allerdings immer noch, selbst wenn die Zeitschaltfunktion aktiviert ist. Der Grund daf\u00fcr: Die Vodafone Station schaltet nur WLAN aus und geht nicht etwa selbst in den Schlafmodus. Das ist schade, denn Strom kannst du so kaum sparen. Auch als <a href=\"https:\/\/trendblog.euronics.de\/pc-notebook\/nas-ueberblick-alles-was-ihr-zu-netzwerkspeichern-wissen-muesst-84433\/\">Netzwerkspeicher\/NAS<\/a> kannst du sie nicht nutzen. Gut ist zwar, dass sie schon <a href=\"https:\/\/trendblog.euronics.de\/smart-home\/wi-fi-6-nachruesten-so-gehts-das-bringt-es-und-das-brauchst-du-111496\/\">WiFi 6<\/a> beherrscht und damit ein besseres Management verbundener Ger\u00e4te. Die Box vom Fr\u00fchjahr 2020 bietet Vodafone gegen einen Aufpreis als Alternative an. Die Fritzbox Cable 6660 bietet eine etwas langsamere WLAN-\u00dcbertragungsrate (2.400 Mbit\/s im Vergleich zu 4.800), daf\u00fcr aber einen Mediaserver, Mesh-WLAN, eine Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr Anrufbeantworter, Dect-Telefone, Fax und NAS. Dazu hat sie mehr Anschl\u00fcsse, mehr Einstellungsm\u00f6glichkeiten und mit FritzOS das modernere Betriebssystem. Die bietet zus\u00e4tzlich zu den F\u00e4higkeiten der Fritzbox 6660 vor allem mehr Anschl\u00fcsse, 4&#215;4 WiFi statt 2&#215;2, zwei statt einem Anschluss f\u00fcr analoge Telefone und \u2013 wie die Vodafone Station \u2013&nbsp;eine \u00dcbertragungsrate bis zu 4.800 Mbit\/s. Kostenpunkt: um 300 Euro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bei beiden Fritzboxen ist au\u00dferdem die mittlere Leistungsaufnahme zwischen 11 und 15 noch etwas niedriger als bei der Vodafone Station. Sprich: Du sparst im laufenden Betrieb Strom und damit Geld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fazit\">Fazit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Vodafone Station ist genau das richtige f\u00fcr dich, wenn du eigentlich nur zuverl\u00e4ssig WLAN nutzen m\u00f6chtest \u2013 und sonst nicht viel mehr. Denn das macht der Router f\u00fcr wenig bis gar kein Geld ziemlich gut. Dazu gibt Vodafone dir viele Einstellungsm\u00f6glichkeiten und Diagnose-Tools an die Hand.
